You have reached the 7th Ohio Civil War Volunteer Infantry homepage.
The 7th Ohio is a progressive Union Civil War infantry reenactment unit, under the umbrella of the United States Volunteers. The United States Volunteers are the largest group of Union, family-oriented reenactors in the United States.
The 7th Ohio home operating theater is Northern Ohio. Annual Reenactments at Burton, in Geauga County, Frostville in Cuyahoga County, Hale Farm in Summit County, and Zoar in Tuscarawas County are our main events. Large scale national events that we usually attend, two to three times a season, are Gettysburg PA, Cedar Creek VA, and others as opportunity allows.
The 7th Ohio operates militarily under a Captain, 1st Sergeant, and secondary NCOs, who vary with attendance and events.
Although the military aspect of Civil War recreation is our main purpose, the civilian aspect of the Civil War is highly encouraged. Esteemed members can claim experience dating back 15 years or more. The 7th is obviously a time-tested unit, seeing “many elephants”.
